‘You know,’ he came and stood next to me, ‘I’d rather you give me the micropipette if you’re only planning on delaying this.’
It was one of the lab classes and it felt like I was being incubated at 38 degrees (Celsius scale) in full sleeved white lab coats rather than the damn microbes in the incubators.
I breathed out, keeping the pipette aside and throwing my gloves, shoving my fingers through my hair. ‘Someone’s eager to go home today.’
I was sure I had heard something.
It was not Ryland and it couldn’t be Owlie since she slept in during her holidays.
My cat continued her self-spa treatment, moving on to clean her sides.
Two minutes later, a guy almost as tall as me walked out of the room beside mine. He had a black jacket on and pulled out a chair from the dining table, sat down, and began tying his shoes.
After yesterday’s back-to-work-again party, it feels like it’s going to be a tough day.
Turns out, everything can be sorted. Sometimes, you have to let time deal with it, and other times, you just have to ask for help.
Point is, if you wake up one morning with bad vibes, don’t let it make your day. The ending, even if there’s chaos, has a beautiful sunset.
Ryland and Owlie planned a whole party before the college session begins and I have always disliked such get togethers.
But those two, maybe they planned it in my best interest or maybe they were just fulfilling their own party goals- it makes matters nerve wrecking with a wrong turn of events…
My best friend and flatmate is being a butt pain. I think I’m a butt pain for him as well. Stuck between the two of us, is my other flatmate, Owlie.
What are we to do when we’re so engrossed in our own lives that we forget about helping each other out? We forget what this old friendship means to us? Two minutes away from jumping, teeth barring, at each other, still sleeping in the same room…
Guess what? It’s our birthday today (twins), which is why, since I’m the birthday girl, I get to say whatever I want.
Interestingly, this time, we both didn’t want to celebrate. So, he’s in a University where his exams are starting by the end of April and I’m in a university where my exams are done. So, I’m chilling and he’s going to college each weekday, cribbing about how if the syllabus is finished, they should just give them their preparatory leave already.
I started taking coffee in high school. Where I come from, medicine is an undergraduate course and a lot of people take extra classes for it. To manage a day where you have to get up and attend school, then have lunch and run for your four hour long extra classes four days a week, then come home, have dinner and indulge in some self study, you need something to keep you going.
In my case, it was coffee. It was difficult. And to be very honest, unnecessary. I believe, now, if you really want to study for the medical entrance exams, please indulge more in self study and paper solving than in those extra classes.
Elena decided to try a head stand.
Now normally, when you begin practicing a head stand, you try it against a wall. Almost everyone who doesn’t know how to do a head stand also knows this.
But would this girl use her brain? No.
I’ve seen Elena do a shoulder stand before. She’s really good at yoga, not that the shoulder stand has anything to do with the head stand, but still. Just saying.
Our flat has two rooms, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen. A year ago, the landlord increased the rental and that’s how we ended up inviting another person to live with us. I moved into Ryland’s room, since that was the bigger room which could fit two separate single beds easily among other things.
Little did we know, we didn’t know how to live.
A lot of people write or talk about how they spent the past year and how excited (or not), they … More
